Can getting engaged be sustainable?

As an avid thrifter all 29 years of my life, it was only fitting me and my boyfr—fiancé* found my engagement ring preloved! It’s a ring made earlier than the 2000’s, qualifying it as vintage (which I still cannot believe) and she is GORGEOUS! And against the status quo I am gushing that this, UNDER $1K SCORE, had it been a brand new ring (of same size, cut, color, and clarity, etc.) it easily would double to triple what he had paid. And the thought went into choosing the ring was priceless; the ring represented him through its minimalism and me for its secondhand charm. And since it’s all the same, this is technically a new ring to me. ;)

I believe every person has the decision to go sustainable, through small and big actions, even when it comes to something as big as an engagement ring. This in no means is me saying you have to, but you are entitled to some knowledge on the history of Diamonds and the pursuit to “put a ring on it.” Tap through my infographics and bookmark this post to refer back to!!

Also I need to know, has anyone out there also bought their engagement rings vintage, secondhand or perhaps a family heirloom? I’d love to see it. :) 💍
