What to prep for your next lockdown…
Ideas to enjoy the quarantine vs. just surviving it…
1. Nice cookware.
To mitigate your next spread, cooking at home is essential! The CDC highly reccomends that you invest in quality produce and splurge on some good cookware! A bonus is not only do you treat yourself to cookware that cooks more efficiently, you also can get pretty cookware essentials that will make you smile just looking at it.
2. Invest in Streaming Services.
Remember when we blurred the lines between work and play-in-place? Well, 2.0 pandemic life requires that streaming services be mandatory, but protip you are better off with youtube tv, because too many streaming services basically becomes cable, just saying.
3. Mood Lighting
Mood lighting is not only reserved for sexy time, it can transition into quiet time, game time (looking at my twitch buds) and or general vibes you want to curate! It can be the difference of dull to impressive home in a matter of a light switch. Tiktok trends aside, mood lighting truly sets a tone, don’t knock it before you try it.
4. Comfortable Clothing.
I don’t make the rules, but having cute items at home produces endorphins, which helps to enjoy your environment freely! That, and in the words of Elle Woods a la Legally Blonde, “Happy people just don't kill their husbands, they just don't.” Buy the normcore athleisure set in a ridiculous pastel shade, we won’t judge.
5. A New Hobby.
Per the last reasons, sheltering-in-place doesn’t need to be literal—create safe spaces in your home to do different rituals. Whether you’re the knitter, drunk painter, yogi, lifter, gamer, reader…sanction off a space that allows you to lean into an old or new hobby. Just because we shelter-in-place, doesn’t mean our personal growth must also be stagnant. Go on and puzzle king/queen/royalty!
